I'm Hannah Galo,
   I became interested in making jewelry 5 years ago when my cousin gave me a bead kit. I began making jewelry for family and friends. Soon, people were telling me that I should sell my creations!  I made jewelry with store-bought beads. Then one day, I went to a local bead store and saw beautiful handcrafted lampwork beads, created by local artist Venesa Torres. So I e-mailed her asking if I could buy beads directly from her. I purchased her beads for some time, then got this wild idea that I would learn how to make beads myself ! Venesa took me under her "torch" and taught me how to create beads, even though I was only 13 at the time. I crafted beads in her studio for 2 years. I'm so thankful that she put up with me for all that time and taught me all her beady secrets! It was so much fun and I miss my time with her!  This past Christmas was probably the best Christmas I've had. I got my own studio!  Now, I have my awesome red Nortel torch, oxygen concentrator and a beautiful glass rack (made by Venesa and her hubby Steve!)  I find that when I make beads, I'm in my own little world! Its so much fun to be creative and not have to worry about anything else, except having a blast melting glass! I hope through my work, you can see how much I love it!
